Automatic Members

Film Unit is technically a Film Society, and as such must have a clearly defined membership. We do not charge for membership, and very few people are not automatically members.

The following are automatically members of Film Unit:

• Members of the Union of Students
• Employees of the University of Sheffield or the University of Sheffield Union of Students

This pretty much boils down to "People who can get into the Union in the evening," when we normally show films. As with other events at the Union, you'll have to bring your UCard to get in. Remember that you can also sign in two guests.

External Membership

If you do not fall into either of those categories, don't worry. You can still come to any of our films by becoming an External Member. You'll need to go to the Union Reception (just next to Box Office) with two passport sized photographs, proof of identity and one pound (an administrative charge, sorry). After that you'll have to bring your External Membership Card so that security will let you in to the building.
